Hi, yes I know the pose isn't a perfect archers pose, but we did our best. It's free stock, for goodness sake. If you need perfect, this isn't the place. Obviously. This is the place where we do our best. If you're happy with that, great. Look forward to seeing your beautiful artwork. But the picky or downright rude comments are unhelpful and unasked for. Don't forget you're offending the model too, and they really try hard to give YOU something to work with.

Holy cow... reading the comments on here...

WHO CARES if the pose is slightly off and the hands are positioned wrong? It's stock. Draw over them or replace them with the "correct" hands.

Way to look a gift horse in the mouth, guys. People like you put people like Cathleen off doing stock and ruin it for the rest of us.

Personally I don't give a rat's bum about the inaccuracies of the pose, it's a gorgeous, useful photograph!

Since we've brought the inaccuracy to attention, may I know what exactly is wrong with it? I can always fudge it in a drawing. I'm no archer, but I'd guess her stance needs to be more straight and erect - that's all I can guess though.

I don't know if anyone answered you yet about this. But, there's many things to think about for a correct way of holding and shooting a bow. For example you rest the arrow on the arrow rest (to make it extremly simple it should at least almost look like the arrow rests on the index finger even though it doesnt). You would hurt if you held your finger around it when shooting.

You also don't hold your hand around the string with the entire hand. One finger above the end of the arrow (at the nocking point) and 2 fingers under and simply bend the finger tips around the string.

That's just a few things. :)

I never even thought about hand positioning! I tried to pull back the string on a bow once and failed miserably. I was smaller then, so maybe I should give it another go.

yeah, it depends on what bow you have and ofc how strong you are. But you should definitly give it another go :)

And if you were to shoot with your hands as they are you would likely rip off at least three fingers. (Ewww).
