Change in ContestI am cancelling the Magic Refrigerator contest as there were not enough entries - my thnks to those who did submit.
I am switching gears as there are some great prizes - and I have to update the prize list!!
The contest is "Legends, Myths, and Fairy Tales". Each person can enter two pieces. Tell me a legend, fairy tale or myth- one of your own, or retell an old one. Change the ending of a classic and give it a new twist. Combine several tales at once - be creative. The two categories are literature (Poetry and Prose) and Digital Art.
Please send your entry by message here and put "Contest" in the subject line. Include the thumbnail. The description needs to have the name of the contest (Legends, Myths and Tales) and link to my page! All pieces must be new works. The new contest starts April 27 and ends June 30.

You can modify the Stock, but the model must be visible and recognizable in your finished work.

- But you can also make it different, like a lady with a raven on her shoulder

Spring/Summer 2012 Contest: The sands of timeHi guys,
We are officially launching our spring/summer 2012 contest today, with the theme being "The Sands of Time". The theme is as open ended as you want to make it, though we encourage you to be as creative as possible with the brief. We are looking for original, creative, and imaginative pieces, and the winners will be pick from those submissions which best fulfill these ideals. You must include at least one piece of our stock in your art, either as a reference or a photo manipulation. The closing date is midnight Pacific Standard Time 31st July 2012, and please see the rules below for full details.
At the end of each week we will feature all the entries submitted in the past seven days, with the chance for everyone to see the submissions so far.

After a bit of ado, we are happy to introduce some new challenges that we hope will inspire some more creativity in our community as well as encourage ALL of us (ourselves included) to learn some new skills and expand our repertoire!

For these challenges, we will require the use of one piece of stock that, while lovely and very useful, might typically be considered "overused," and one new skill or technique.
We know there are a lot of challenges out there already, but here are the goals for ours:

To address concerns of "copying" and "lack of creativity" by challenging people to think more creatively about their art,

To help members of our community learn more and expand their skills by challenging them to learn new techniques, and

To maintain the focus of our community on art, growth, and support.

First I want to thank everybody for your support, the

I really appriciate it

Sorry for not being around on DA as much as I like to, but because of personal reasons it was difficult to get here on DA sometimes.
I decided to be open with you today and tell you my personal reason.
It is hard for me because I don't want to have any pitty and maybe after this journal I will think:
"OMG, why did I tell this in public" hahahaha. My reason is that I feel the need to dedicate this journal to my dearest friends who support me all the time!!! And give me hope and a smile on my face when I have bad times!
I am ill for almost two years now. First I survived cancer and now I still have a problem, I can't walk proper! I have problems in my nerve system and it is hard for the doctors to fix me till so far. I went to a lot of hospitals
